Out & About

Today was so much fun! We slept before we met up with some friends. Today we went to the town of Praia located about 5-10 minutes from the base.Our first stop was for lunch at a place, when translated in English, called Soup and Salad. It was very good. I had carrot and egg soup and Justin had a variety of salads. From there we walked all over the town and went to a coffee shop, salon, pastry shop, Donut&Cake shop, and a few clothing shops. We also enjoyed a walk on the boardwalk that runs along the beach! The weather was beautiful with sunshine, no rain, and just a little breeze. The town was so neat, clean, and peaceful. We look forward to spending alot of time there, especially the boardwalk and beach. We also went with a friend to look at some real estate off base and saw some very nice houses. This evening we went to our future neighbors house and had appetizers and watched Twilight. After watching Twilight we went to the base theatre and watched New Moon which is just coming out here and we never saw it in the states. It was ok, not my favorite, but not the worst. After the movie we went to our other future neighbors house and had dinner. They cooked chicken stir fry with veggies and rice. It was sooo good! We sat around there and watched a video of the local bullfights that take place here in the summer. Can't wait to see those in person. Overall we had a fun day and are learning our way around more and more each day. Enjoy the pics from around the town!
