Everyone made it home safe and life on the island is still great. We miss everyone and really enjoyed them being here. When they left, and we came home to an empty house for the first time, it made us miss them more! We had gotten used to it being just us, but it was great having our family here! We have been busy since their departure. Thursday was the Change of Command for the base which also means that Justin has a new boss. He is working really hard at his new job as the Wing Executive Officer. He works directly for the Wing Commander and is enjoying it. Friday night we went to a local Chinese restaurant in Angra and then to the arena bullfight. Unfortunately there was not an arena bullfight when our family was here but they were able to see the street bullfight. The arena bullfight was entertaining and I even put some videos of it on Facebook. Saturday was busy! Justin stared the morning by riding his bike up to Serra do Cume, which is the mountain that has the windmills at the top. When he returned we went to the beach for the afternoon. Saturday night we played in a 24 hour softball tournament and stayed up all night. We played 6 games and went to bed Sunday morning at 8. After a quick nap we were back up at 1030 to get ready for church. We spent the afternoon at the pool and then went to bed early. We were tired and slept really well! This week will keep us busy as we continue to enjoy the island.
