Last week we were able to make a surprise visit to SC! We planned our visit for a month and kept it a secret. Sunday April 26 we flew back to the states and had a family friend pick us up in Charlotte. We arrived at my parent’s house in Greer about 8:30 pm and walked in while they were having dinner. Everyone just looked at us for a second and then realized what was going on. It was great to see them and see their faces. Once they were surprised we began scheming on how we were going to surprise Justin's family. We decided that my parents were going to invite everyone over for dinner Monday night and convince them that we had something important to tell everyone on Skype. So my mom made phone calls to Justin's parents, Justin's brother, and grandparents. Everyone bought it so our plan was in motions. Now the funny part is that after the phone calls were made everyone started predicting that I was going to have a baby and they were trying to figure out the due date!
Monday morning we surprised our sister-in-law Suzanne at her house. After surprising her we went to get our niece and nephew out of school and went o Chick-fil-A for lunch...the whole reason I came back was to eat there :) After eating we spent most of the day at Target and then returned to my parents to surprise everyone! It went off without a hitch and no one knew we were there until we appeared from the back door!
Justin was able to do some hunting and fishing and I did some shopping and visited friends from work. The weather was beautiful and it was great to be home! We enjoyed spending time with our families and seeing their faces when we arrived.
We came back home Saturday but had a brief delay in Baltimore. Our flight was supposed to leave around 1pm but ended up leaving at 1am Sunday morning. Instead of wasting a day in the airport we took a mini vacation and rode the train into Baltimore. We walked around the inner harbor, visited the sports legends museum, and attended the Orioles vs. Red Sox game! It ended up being a long but fun day. We finally arrived on the island Sunday morning and slept most of the day. We are back to our normal routine but looking forward to coming home again around Christmas.
