Home for the Holidays

December flew by and here we are in 2011 already. December was filled with Christmas parties and best of all a trip home to South Carolina. We were able to fly home December 20 and spend Christmas and the New Year with our families. As, always Santa was good to us but the best gift was going home! Before we left the island we did our Christmas with each other. I loved all my gifts from Justin and he liked his too. I got Sperry rain shoes, a SC hat, a towel wrap, and new perfume. Justin got new Oakleys for bike riding, and NB tennis shoes.
We arrived in SC December 21 and I spent the first few days wrapping gifts and finishing shopping while Justin spent his time deer hunting and duck hunting. We enjoyed the usual Christmas traditions with our family and friends on Christmas. We got a bunch of presents and had fun opening our surprises. One thing special about this Christmas was the SNOW. It was the first white Christmas in a long time and we were able to be there for it!
After Christmas we had the chance to go with my parents, brothers, and some of their friends to West Virginia snow skiing. We had a great time and even though we hadn’t skied in a while there were no injuries. The conditions were great and it even snowed while we were there.
After returning from WV we enjoyed time with our families, ate some good food, and of course did some shopping. It was great to go to Target anytime I wanted. We also enjoyed plenty of Chick-fil-A while we were home. It was the first place we ate when we landed and the last place we ate before we left, and a few times in between.
The time at home was great, although the cold was a little shocking. We are back on the island ready for a new year. It is hard to believe that our first year here is almost complete but we are ready to see what 2011 has in store!
